The Dalhousie Women's Rugby Football Club is a competitive club rugby team within the University Women's Club League that provides high-quality practice and
competition with other teams within Nova Scotia. Our club intends to welcome players of any skill level into a safe, positive, and fun team environment while still effectively representing the skill that Dalhousie rugby players hold.
All levels of ability/experience are encouraged to join the team and become involved in the rugby family. As a club team (i.e., non-varsity), we value growth and development from all skill levels and provide the opportunity for this to occur. There is no formal tryout process, and playing time is determined based on a combination of skill and commitment to the team. Practices provide introductory training/drill sessions, contact practice, fitness, sprint training, ball handling, position-specific skills, and practice/touch games. There are also gym training sessions. Games are typically played on weekends but sometimes held in the evenings on weekdays. We play teams at a variety of different levels, including local rugby clubs to University varsity teams.
The DWRUFC aims to provide an engaging yet manageable, fun yet competitive, and challenging yet accessible program to all students that are interested in the sport of rugby.
