The Dalhousie Reading Society society entails all members to read the same book for each month and attend the end-of-month meeting to discuss the book. Each monthly book centers around a different theme or genre. For instance, October’s theme is Thriller and Horror for Halloween. All the books are new releases, so no one must worry about having previously read them.
Along with meetings, members will also participate in various outreach events held throughout the school year. Potential events include reading to kids, building a community bookshelf, and doing a book drive. Through this society, students at Dal can discuss their love of reading with their peers, make friends that share the same passion, and share that love with the greater Halifax area.
