Cannabis | Harm Reduction
Cannabis is a hallucinogenic psychoactive substance that causes the functions of the central nervous system to slow down. While Cannabis is associated with feelings of relaxation and euphoria (feeling “high”), it can also have negative or unpleasant effects.
Cannabis use can cause confusion, anxiety, paranoia, hallucinations, fatigue, and impaired cognitive functioning. This includes impaired memory, concentration, focus, and awareness. Cannabis can also result in decreased blood pressure, causing some people to faint, and increased heart rate.
Using too much Cannabis can be dangerous and will cause a person to feel incredibly sick. "Greening out" is a term used to describe a situation where a person feels sick after using cannabis products.
