Sexual Health Nova Scotia

Sexual Health Nova Scotia (SHNS) represents the provincial network of community-based sexual health centres. Centres’ services include support and guidance for anyone regarding sexual health, free or low-cost safer sex supplies, referrals and help navigating the health care system, educational programs, and medical services such as STI testing, birth control prescriptions, and Pap tests.

Nova Scotia Women's Choice Clinic

A surgical abortion and medical abortion clinic based at the Victoria General site of the QEII Health Sciences Centre in Halifax. There is a provincial self-referral line (listed below) for information about accessing medical and surgical abortions at the QEII and other locations across the province. Women can work with the referral line to learn more about accessing services closer to home.

National Abortion Federation (NAF) Hotline

The NAF Hotline Fund operates the largest national, toll-free, multilingual hotline for abortion referrals and financial assistance in the U.S. and Canada. They provide callers with accurate information, confidential consultation, and referrals to providers of quality abortion care. They also provide case management services and limited financial assistance to help you afford the cost of your care and travel-related expenses. The hotline is free and offers services to everyone, regardless of your individual situation.
