All societies are required to submit event and risk management information to the DSU Member Services Coordinator for approval before moving forward with event bookings. This submission process is handled entirely online and should be completed by the registered Primary Event Organizer (PEO). Please ensure that the PEO has completed training and submited a PEO contract.

After your event has been submitted, it will be reviewed by the Member Services Coordinator. When your event is approved you will receive an email confirmation along with a DSU Event ID Number which you will need to book space through campus bookings

Why is Risk Management Important?

Everyone involved with an event, from event planners to the venue staff, hosts, and guests share a certain degree of responsibility in creating a safe environment for everyone involved. Legally, your society executives and primary event organizer will be held accountable for ensuring that all necessary precautions have been put in place.

We have developed a process to help societies and organizers identify risks associated with events, and to ensure that all necessary precautions have been taken. If you have any questions regarding the Risk Management process, please contact the Member Services Coordinator at dsumemberservices@dal.ca or at (902) 494-7718.
