Join a Committee

What are committees?

Committees are smaller planning, organizing, or decision-making bodies that assist in the operation of the Dalhousie Student Union. This can range from planning O-Week to making recommendations on Union policies!

How can I join one?

Committees are categorized as closed or open.

  • Closed - A Committee that is not open to any individuals not appointed by Council or invited by the Chair of the committee.
    • To join a closed committee, reach out to its Chair to express interest! Nominee names will be brought to Council to be appointed officially into a voting seat.
  • Open - A Committee that is open for any member to attend.
    • To join an open committee there are two options - if you're looking for a higher level of involvement reach out to its Chair to inquire about a voting seat!
    • Otherwise, any student is welcome to attend an open committee to participate and contribute as a non-voting member!

What committees can I join?
