What exactly is a society access card?
Society access cards grant members of ratified societies the permission to book, pick up and charge DSU services on that society's account. Cardholders can access approved services and resources on behalf of their society, but only after the following steps have been taken and processes followed:
1) Apply for ratification
2) Once your ratification application is approved, submit a completed Society Access Card Request Form or do so in person with the front desk Member Services staff on the 2nd floor of the SUB. Complete the form by filling in the contact details for who should receive invoices and the authorized persons who can charge to the account.
**NOTE: fine print will indicate suspension of account services if invoices are not paid within 60 days
3) Society Access cards must be authorized with a signature from the Member Services Coordinator, Campus Copy Manager, or the VP Internal; they will determine a valid expiry date. It may take up to 3 business days to process your request form. If you want to call to confirm that your cards are ready for pick up please phone 902-494-3781
4) Collect your cards from Campus Copy on the 3rd floor of the SUB, distribute them to your authorized members and begin accessing equipment/supplies and charging on account by showing your card to the staff working at the DSU. You will be denied access to equipment/supplies and will not be allowed to charge to an account if you do not show your card.
